HB 4145 MOVING AHEAD. REPUBLICANS STANDING STILL.
02.09.2026
House Bill 4145, the Democrats’ latest anti-basic rights bill, is now scheduled for a work session on Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. in the House Judiciary Committee.
At the time this alert was posted, the testimony against this garbage bill was 1,333. The testimony in support was 467. As with the Democrats’ attempts to screw over the voters and move Kotek’s massive tax bill to the May election, it’s a pretty safe bet that the ruling junta has no interest whatsoever in the wishes of the voters on the gun bill, either.
Kotek’s tax bill is a payoff to her union supporters. The anti-gun bill is one more step in making sure Oregonians are defenseless against the criminals the Democrats keep protecting.
As of now, there are no amendments posted for the gun bill. The work session is where amendments, if any, are adopted and the bill is voted to the floor. The Democrats do not usually hold work sessions on any bills for which they don’t already have the votes, so this bill will almost certainly pass the House.
By the way, Kotek’s tax bill (SB 1599), which has unprecedented opposition, is also scheduled for a work session on Feb. 11. That work session is at 1 p.m.
There has probably never been a bill in Oregon that was as universally loathed as SB 1599. This bill is third-world-level corruption and the most naked effort to stack the deck and screw the voters in Oregon history. We expect them to load the dice, but we expect them to have a bit more finesse. The Democrats are making Mexico look like a bastion of virtue.
These bills will have to work their way through both houses and be signed by the Governor. So, there is actually still time for the Republicans to get a clue that they are being slapped around and laughed at.
The people who they keep urging to “make their voices heard” have done their part. Over and over. The future is in the hands of the people who daily promise to stand up for your rights and then bow down before the Marxist rabble that controls the state and kicks the voters in the teeth. The ball is in their court.
