CRACKPOT BALLOT MEASURE FAILS!

After a somewhat contentious, and not very productive, meeting of the Explanatory Statement Committee for the “ban on food” measure IP 28 we are very pleased to share this info we just received from the Secretary of State:
The Oregon Secretary of State’s Elections Division has completed the signature verification process for IP 2026-028 and found that the petition does not have the minimum number of valid signatures needed to qualify for the 2026 General Election ballot.
The public hearing to receive public comments on the draft financial estimate and draft explanatory statement has been cancelled, along with any future reconsideration meetings for the FEC or ESC.
This very, very, welcome development will save good Oregonians a fortune in court costs.
