NRA SPECIAL INSTRUCTOR CLASSES SCHEDULED
RANGE SAFETY OFFICER (RSO)
CHIEF RANGE SAFETY OFFICER (CROS) CLASSES
Range Safety Officers (RSO’s) are certified by the NRA
do the multiple tasks involved in operating a range on a day
to day basis. On the firing line, RSO's provide direct supervision
to ensure that shooter's follow range regulations, which are
designed to prevent possible property damage and personal injury.
In general, RSO's have range management authority and responsibility
to enforce ALL of the range rules and regulations. Many organizations,
such as the Boy Scouts, require that an RSO be present at any
of their shooting events. Many insurance companies require RSO's
or will give reduced rates to the ranges requiring RSO's. To
become an RSO, one may simply take an RSO class.
Chief Range Safety Officers (CRSO's), an NRA Instructor level
classification, are certified to train and certify RSO's. CRSO's
are also able to add additional venues to their certification
abilities. To become a CRSO, a candidate must complete Basic
Instructor Training (BIT), or be a current NRA Instructor, as
well as successfully complete an RSO Class.
Currently, our next RSO/ CRSO class is scheduled for Feb. 13-15,
09. Friday 2/13 will be a BIT class plus Home Firearm Safety
(HFS) Instructor class. Saturday, 2/14 will be an RSO class.
Sunday, 2/15 will be a CRSO class.
Cost for ALL three days (BIT - HFS - RSO -CRSO) is $300.00.
The cost for RSO only is $100.00. The cost for CRSO only is
$150.00. All applications must be submitted with a 50% non refundable
deposit attached by Monday, February 2, Classes will be held
in Eugene Oregon.

Scheduled April 18-19 2009
2/ Training Counselor Work Shop (TCWS) May 22-24 2009. This
will be a monitored TCWS, which not only trains and certifies
Training Counselors (TC), but will allow current TCs to advance
to Senior TCs (STC).
