Linda Flores House District 51
Linda Flores, House District 51
Linda is a strong supporter of 2nd Amendment rights and her principled leadership on this issue shows why gun owners should back her campaign for re-election. Oregon Firearms Federation has given her ++, the highest marks possible in their candidate rankings. The National Rifle Association has awarded similar scores over the past several years and she holds an A+ rating for the 2008 election cycle.

As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, many anti-gun bills have come her way, but she has fought hard for our right to bear arms. In 2007 Linda opposed efforts by the Port of Portland to illegally prohibit Concealed Handgun License holders from airport property. She helped a colleague in the House overturn a ridiculous rule by the Department of Human Services which prohibited foster parents from having firearms. Most recently, Representative Flores stepped forward to protect the names and addresses of Concealed Handgun License holders. She is introducing a bill for the 2009 Legislative Session which will keep that information confidential. Earlier this year, Linda joined other women legislators from across the county support the lawsuit against Washingon, D.C.’s gun ban. In addition, Linda continues to push legislation which will allow campus cops to carry weapons on duty.

Behind the scenes, Linda has done several things to help protect gun owners’ rights. We need more friends like Linda in the Oregon Legislature and should do everything possible to help get her re-elected.
